These certificates have been removed from circulation and digitalized, as seen by cancellation holes, stamps and writing on the certificate. We offer these certificates as a collectable item, not a security.
This is an original unissued stock certificate from Sadie's Bawdy House and Home for Wayward Girls, Inc. printed in black. Features a vignette of a majestic eagle with spread wings perched on a rocky outcrop, flanked by decorative floral sprigs.
The certificate remains uncancelled from 1977 and includes humorous shareholder benefits such as serving as 'an ex-officio member of the talent screening committee' and a requirement that 'shareholders are required to visit the premises at least once a year' with a 'frequency discount' available. Offered as a collectible.
This certificate was never issued and is in excellent condition.
In the 1970s, Nevada was capitalizing on its unique legal brothel industry with growing mainstream acceptance and tourism. Sadie's Bawdy House and Home for Wayward Girls, Inc. was a novelty company during this period when legal prostitution in certain Nevada counties was becoming a recognized part of the state's identity. The certificates feature facsimile signatures of Sadie O'Toole as President and Lula La Poze as Secretary, adding to the playful Old West atmosphere.
