This is a green stock certificate from The Peoples-First National Bank of Hoosick Falls, featuring a gold raised seal, cancellation holes, dates from 1953, and signatures.

The bank was originally chartered in 1880 as the National Bank of Hoosick Falls in Rensselaer County, New York. In 1931, it merged with the Peoples National Bank to form the Peoples-First National Bank of Hoosick Falls. The institution continued to operate under this name until 1955, when it was merged into the National Commercial Bank and Trust Company of Albany.

Materials and care

Materials:

Paper Quality: Stock certificates are printed on high-quality, durable paper designed to withstand the test of time.

Ink: The certificate features vibrant and archival-grade ink to preserve the intricate engravings and detailed artwork.

Care Instructions:

Handling: Always handle the certificate with clean, dry hands or use cotton gloves to avoid transferring oils and dirt from your skin onto the paper.

Storage: Store the certificate in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can cause fading. Use acid-free folders or archival-quality plastic sleeves to protect it from moisture, dust, and physical damage.

Framing: If displaying the certificate, use a frame with UV-protective glass to prevent light damage. Ensure the certificate is mounted using acid-free materials to avoid any chemical reactions that could degrade the paper over time.

Avoid Exposure: Keep the certificate away from extreme temperatures and humidity, which can cause the paper to warp or deteriorate. Avoid exposing it to pollutants, such as smoke or chemicals, which can cause discoloration.

Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the certificate to ensure it remains in good condition. Check for signs of wear, fading, or damage, and take action to address any issues promptly.
