These certificates have been removed from circulation and digitalized, as seen by cancellation holes, stamps and writing on the certificate. We offer these certificates as a collectable item, not a security.
This is an original unissued stock certificate from The Walt Disney Company, dated 1990, printed in blue. Features a vignette showcasing a portrait of Walt Disney surrounded by beloved Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, and Tinker Bell. The design includes geometric borders with diamond and star motifs framing the certificate.
Cancelled with perforation holes "Specimen", indicating it was a sample used by the printer and company. This certificate was never issued, and it retains the crispness of an undelivered document. Shows minor age-appropriate wear with vibrant colors intact. Offered as a collectible.
In 1990, Disney was riding high on the success of Michael Eisner's transformation of the company throughout the 1980s. Walt Disney and his brother Roy had founded the company in 1923 as Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in a small office behind a Los Angeles real estate company. Walt revolutionized animation with synchronized sound in "Steamboat Willie" and created the first full-length animated feature with "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" in 1937. By 1990, under Eisner's leadership, Disney had expanded beyond animation into live-action films, expanded Disneyland, opened Disney World, and launched the Disney Channel. The certificate bears the facsimile signature of Lois P. Smith, who served as corporate secretary during this pivotal era when Disney was establishing itself as a global entertainment empire that would define American popular culture for generations.

Storage: Store the certificate in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can cause fading. Use acid-free folders or archival-quality plastic sleeves to protect it from moisture, dust, and physical damage.
Framing: If displaying the certificate, use a frame with UV-protective glass to prevent light damage. Ensure the certificate is mounted using acid-free materials to avoid any chemical reactions that could degrade the paper over time.
Avoid Exposure: Keep the certificate away from direct sun, extreme temperatures and humidity, which can cause the paper to warp or deteriorate. Avoid exposing it to pollutants, such as smoke or chemicals, which can cause discoloration.
