These are stock certificates issued by the General Foods Corporation in the 1960s. Certificates were produced in both brown and green variations. Each was issued and later cancelled. Offered as collectibles.
General Foods, founded in 1929, became one of the largest packaged food companies in the United States. Known for iconic brands such as Maxwell House coffee, Jell-O, Kool-Aid, and Birdseye frozen foods, the company played a central role in shaping modern American food culture. In the 1980s, General Foods was acquired by Philip Morris and later merged into Kraft Foods, cementing its legacy in consumer products history.
The certificates feature ornate engraved borders in brown and green and display a vignette of two allegorical women symbolizing agriculture and commerce. Cancellation punches and stamps are visible, but the artwork and layout remain sharp and striking.
