This is a red stock certificate issued by the Sperry Corporation in 1940s. It was issued and later cancelled. Offered as a collectible.
Sperry was founded in 1910 by Elmer Ambrose Sperry, the inventor of the marine gyrostabilizer, and became a pioneering name in navigation and defense technologies. By the mid-20th century, the company was a major supplier of guidance and electronic systems for aviation, maritime, and later aerospace. Sperry eventually merged with Burroughs in 1986 to form Unisys, one of the enduring names in American computing and defense contracting.
The certificate features a detailed vignette combining a ship, an airplane, and a cockpit scene, symbolizing Sperry’s reach across sea, air, and technological innovation. The bold red engraved border frames the design, while cancellation stamps and punches show its redemption.
